SOLD OUT Author Event: Silas House

SOLD OUT Author Event: Silas House

Wild Geese Bookshop is thrilled to host New York Times bestselling author Silas House for an appearance and book signing.

House is the author of six novels, including his most recent, Southernmost. His work has been published in Time, Garden and Gun, Oxford American, Newsday, and many other publications. He is a member of the Fellowship of Southern Writers and serves on the MFA in creative writing program at Spalding University and as the NEH Chair at Berea College. His work has received many honors, including the EB White Award, the Nautilus Prize, and the Hobson Medal for Literature.  Southernmost has recently been long-listed for the Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction and is un-put-downable.

Charles Frazier, author of Cold Mountain and Varina has said of Southernmost, “this beautifully crafted novel brims with a spirit of hopeful humanity as one man’s effort to make himself a better person casts ripples in the world around him.“
Garden & Gun writes: “
House, evoking writers such as Rick Bass and Wendell Berry, serves up earnest, plainspoken characters nestled into lavishly drawn natural settings. He paints, too, an equally if less violently vivid portrait of Key West . . . He is that rare stylist on whose descriptions— incantations, really—one wishes to linger.”

Your ticket includes admission, a hardcover first edition of the book and $5.00 off any item in the bookshop on the day of the event.

If you have previously purchased a copy of Southernmost from Wild Geese Bookshop and would like to attend, please email to reserve your seat.
